The nomination is a facility for depositors, in the event of unfortunate death of the depositor it enables a deposit account holder to nominate an individual, who can claim the proceeds of the account  Nomination facility is available for all types of deposit accounts in State Bank of India. Nomination can be done in favor of one person only.State Bank of India releases the proceeds of the account to the nominee post the unfortunate demise of the original depositor. The bank will not ask for a succession certificate or a legal heir document.

How to add nominee for SBI Account Online via Internet Banking
First and the foremost thing to be kept in mind before registering Nominee in the SBI Online , you must have an active SBI Netbanking services for the account.
Process to add Nominee in SBI Account Online Using Internet Banking
1. Visit Official Website www.onlinesbi.com
2. Using your username and password login to your internet banking account.
3. From the menu click on the Request and Enquiries.
4. Now select Online Nomination Option
5. It will display all the accounts if you have multiple accounts.Then select the account for which you want to add a new nominee. Click on the Continue button.
6. Then Nominee name , Date of Birth and Relationship with the account holder should be entered. Click on the Submit Option
7. Finally the high security password which you received on your registered mobile number should be entered. Clickon the Confirm tab to add a new nominee.
How to add nominee for SBI Account Online via Mobile Banking
To avail the facility of registering the nominee in your SBI account online using mobile banking you have to login to YONO Lite SBI-Mobile Banking APP.
Process to add Nominee in SBI Account Online Using Mobile Banking
1. Login to Yono Lite SBI -Mobile Banking
2. After Login, Click onthe Services Button
3. Then on the next screen tap on the Online Nominayion Option
4. Next you need to select type of account and your account number.
5. In this page tap on the Option Register Nomination 
6. Here in this screen Enter Nominee Name, Date of Birth , Address and Relationship with the depositor.
7.Finally click on the submit option to add a new nominee.
